The state government is collating data regarding Unique Disability ID Card to be finalised by December 31 so that more welfare measures can be initiated for them. This was disclosed by Social Welfare and women and Child welfare Minister Aruna Chaudhary here today. She was here to attend a function organised on International Day of People with Disability here today.
Chaudhary said the state government was committed for the welfare of the disabled persons and had increased reservation for disabled persons in government jobs and promotion to 4 per cent from 3 per cent.
She said disabled persons were being provided pension of Rs 750 per month for which budgetary provision of Rs 96.49 crore was made for 2019-20.
She also honoured 12 disabled persons from various fields with state awards. — TNS
