The Moga police rescued a 16-year-old girl and caught her abductor who allegedly raped her. A senior police officer said the accused had been identified as Nikka Singh of Badduwal village.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was kidnapped from Bhinder Kalan village in the Dharamkot sub-division. The accused allegedly kept her in illegal captivity for around 10 weeks. During that period, she was allegedly raped by the youth.
The police had got her medical examination done from a government hospital. The victim has also recorded her statement in a local court narrating about her illegal confinement and sexual harassment. The youth has been sent to judicial custody by a local court.
