A government school in Malout sub-division here has conducted a comprehensive achievement test (CAT) for teachers to test their abilityand performance.

Vijay Garg, principal, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Mandi Harzi Ram, Malout, said on the occasion of Gyan Utsav to celebrate 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, they conducted a two-hour test in both subjective and objective manner of its nearly 43 regular teachers, seven vocational teachers and B.Ed students on training.

“The Education Department conducts several tests of students and also held competitions to celebrate the Gyan Utsav on Thursday, but we decided to conduct the test of the teachers as well. Two tests of questions up to the level of Class X were conducted in the school and five teachers who got the highest scores were honored. This is the first time for any government school in the state to conduct such a test,” said Garg.

“The first test was of objective type questions of mental ability and second was held in subjective manner. In students’ strength-wise, our school is among the top five schools in the district,” he claims

The teachers who performed well were Suresh Kumar, Sandeep Makkar, Rajiv Kumar, Roshan Singh and Suman Lata.
