Candidates wait for revised dates of Rlys recruitment test

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has so far not announced the dates of test for their recruitment drive.

The 1st stage computer-based test (CBT) for 35,208 non-technical popular categories (NTPC) vacancies was tentatively scheduled between June and September. However, it was postponed and the revised schedule has not so far been announced.

About 1.26 crore candidates have been waiting for the exam. Now, the RRB has officially announced that the exam is delayed and candidates have been told to wait for the new dates.

The Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) had finished the application status process for other 1,03,769 Level-1 posts (RRB Group D) across various railway recruitment zones in August. As many as 1.15 crore people had reportedly applied for vacancies in March.

Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat state secretary Ashok Garg and Railway Passengers Welfare Association vice-president Hanuman Dass Goyal today mailed memorandums to the Railway Minister seeking his intervention to tell the authorities concerned to finalise schedule for the exams. For more than two decades, vacancies existed, but no efforts were made to fill the same. This had adversely affected rail services across the country, the NGOs claimed.

Citing regional issues, they said the 42-km Abohar-Fazilka rail link was inaugurated in July 2012 with a cost of Rs 250 crore, but trains were run only for eight hours as staff was available only for one shift.
