As per information from Gholia Khurd village, the deceased youth demanded money from his parents to buy drugs, but they refused. Anguished over this, he started smashing his arms on a window in his room. One of his nerves got damaged resulting into excessive bleeding, which led to his death.

The local police, when contacted, claimed that they were unaware of the incident.

Meanwhil, AAP legislator from Nihalsinghwala constituency Manjit Singh Bilaspur and party spokesman Navdeep Singh Sangha alleged that the Congress government was trying to hide the deaths due to drugs. “The government has issued verbal instructions to the police to downplay the deaths due to drugs for their vested political interests,” they said and sought a white paper on the actual deaths reported due to drugs.
